Tesia Ta Obituary, SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Tesia Ta, 34, of Springfield, Missouri, died following a serious two-vehicle crash late Wednesday night, Sept. 2, 2026, leaving loved ones, friends and others in the public mourning her loss.
According to the Springfield Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:48 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Kearney Street and Benton Avenue. The collision involved a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2008 Mercedes-Benz.
Police remarked 27-year-old Kayle Moore of Springfield was driving the Chevrolet Traverse eastbound on Kearney Street when Moore turned left into a business in the 400 block of East Kearney Street. Investigators said the Traverse crossed into the path of the Mercedes-Benz, which was traveling westbound and was driven by 25-year-old Marquis Starks, also of Springfield.
Ta was a passenger in Moore’s vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. Despite medical efforts, Ta later passed away at the hospital. Her loved ones was notified of her death.
Moore and Starks were also transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their conditions and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain part of the ongoing medical and investigative response.
Authorities said the circumstances of the collision remain under inquiry. Police have identified suspected speeding and impairment on the part of Starks as possible factors, but investigators have not completed their examination and no final conclusions have been announced.
Ta’s passing was reported as Springfield’s 12th fatal motor vehicle crash of 2026, bringing the total number of people killed in traffic crashes in the city this year to 13. Behind that statistic is a loved ones and circle of loved ones now grieving the loss of a 34-year-old woman whose life ended unexpectedly.
