Heather M. Robinson Obituary, BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Heather M. Robinson, 42, of Cortland, Ohio, died early Friday morning, September 4, following a motorcycle crash involving two horses on State Route 46 in Bazetta Township, Trumbull County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post, the crash happened at approximately 4 a.m. on State Route 46, also known as Niles Cortland Road NE, near Cadwallader Sonk Road. Emergency responders from the Bazetta Township Fire Department and EMS were dispatched to the scene following the collision.
Preliminary information from authorities indicates that Robinson was traveling southbound on State Route 46 while operating a 2006 Suzuki GXR 1000. During the early-morning trip, two horses entered the roadway.
The motorcycle struck one of the horses, causing Robinson to lose control. The motorcycle subsequently left the right side of the roadway and traveled into a ditch. Robinson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The two horses were later returned to their enclosure. Authorities reported that one of the horses sustained minor injuries in the crash. Robinson was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, while spokespeople said alcohol and drug impairment are not believed to have been factors.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators are working to establish the events leading up to the collision, including the circumstances that allowed the horses to enter the roadway.
